Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the otovar.app website and in the Otovar mobile/desktop app. Details on the processing of your personal data are in the Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Notice (KVKK).
1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files that a website you visit saves in your browser. Apps use similar technologies for the same purpose, such as local storage on the device and advertising/notification identifiers.
2. Our website
otovar.app does not use cookies. The site has no analytics, advertising or social media tracking code; fonts and images are loaded from our own server. For security purposes, our server briefly keeps technical access logs such as IP address and request time. When you click a Google Play or Microsoft Store link, you go to that store's website, where that store's own cookie policy applies.
3. The Otovar app
The app does not use browser cookies; it uses the following similar technologies:
- Essential — session and settings: your sign-in session is stored in the device's secure storage, and preferences such as language and appearance are stored locally. The app cannot work without them; they are deleted when you sign out or uninstall the app.
- Essential — notifications: to deliver maintenance, appointment and service notifications, OneSignal and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging create a notification token. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Advertising (Android only, on ad-supported plans): Google AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show ads. Personalized ads are shown only with your explicit consent; if you don't consent, non-personalized ads are shown. No ads are shown on the ad-free and Pro plans; the Windows version has no Google ads.
The app uses no analytics or behavior tracking tools.
4. Managing your preferences
- In regions where ad consent is required, you can change your consent via "Ad Preferences" on the Profile page.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Google > Ads.
- You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.
- You can delete your account and data by following the steps on the account deletion page.
